The Kilakarai Educational and Charitable Trust (KECT) was founded in 1998 with a mission:

To bring back the authentic teachings of Islam in Kilakarai while supporting the community through education, financial aid, and social services. Built on the belief in Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) and the teachings of the Salaf us-Salih (the pious predecessors), KECT focuses on the Quran and Sunnah to guide its work.

From the beginning, KECT has aimed to address gaps in religious knowledge and to help the community reconnect with true Islamic practices. In doing so, they’ve also stepped up to provide much-needed support to those in financial and social need.

Our Methodology

Upholding Islamic Principles

At Kilakarai Educational and Charitable Trust (KECT), our methodology aligns with the teachings of Manhajus Salaf (the way of the righteous predecessors) and Tawhid (the oneness of Allah), emphasizing a return to the authentic practices of Islam as exemplified by the Salaf us-Salih—the first three generations of Muslims.
