Who We Are

Reviving Faith & Uplifting Communities Since 1998

The Kilakarai Educational and Charitable Trust (KECT) was founded in 1998 with a mission:

To bring back the authentic teachings of Islam in Kilakarai while supporting the community through education, financial aid, and social services. Built on the belief in Tawheed (the Oneness of Allah) and the teachings of the Salaf us-Salih (the pious predecessors), KECT focuses on the Quran and Sunnah to guide its work.

From the beginning, KECT has aimed to address gaps in religious knowledge and to help the community reconnect with true Islamic practices. In doing so, they’ve also stepped up to provide much-needed support to those in financial and social need.

Education & Empowerment

Building a Stronger Future

KECT’s work goes beyond just spiritual education. Two Maktab madrasas—one for boys and one for girls—have been set up where children are taught Quranic principles and essential Islamic knowledge. They’ve even established a Hifz Madrasa, focusing on nurturing the next generation of Hafiz, ensuring that the Quran stays alive in the hearts of future generations.

But it doesn’t stop there. KECT believes in empowering the youth for success in this world as well. They've partnered with Iklas IAS Academy to set up a UPSC training center, helping young people prepare for civil service exams while holding on to their Islamic values.

Al Madrasathuth Thaqwa

Quranic & Sunnah Perspective

KECT takes inspiration from the Quran and Sunnah to guide its work. Allah says, “Let there arise from among you a group inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong. And it is they who will be successful.” (Surah Al-Imran 3:104), which KECT reflects by promoting righteousness and meeting community needs.

Their social services, inspired by Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:32 "Whoever saves one life, it is as if they had saved all of humanity.", offer financial aid, healthcare, and other support, uplifting those in distress. As Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “Whoever relieves a believer's distress... Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the Hereafter” (Sahih Muslim). KECT embodies this by providing relief and assistance.

Impact on Kilakarai

KECT has transformed Kilakarai by reconnecting the community with Islamic practices and offering essential services. Through education, financial support, and healthcare, they’ve helped many people improve their lives. KECT’s mission continues to create a future where everyone in Kilakarai can access education and practice Islam in it's purest form, building a spiritually rich and prosperous community. In essence, KECT is not just about teaching the faith, but living it—helping others do the same while creating a balanced life grounded in Islamic principles and worldly success.

Nurturing the Next Generation of Huffaz

At Al Madrasathuth Thaqwa, we are committed to providing high-quality Islamic education through our full-time Hifz Madrasa for boys. Our students don’t just memorize the Quran—they also receive a well-rounded school education, ensuring they excel both spiritually and academically. With transportation facilities covering Kilakarai, we make sure every student has easy access to our program. Our mission is to nurture Huffaz from our community, instilling in them the values and knowledge needed to thrive.

Comprehensive Islamic Education

In addition to our Hifz Madrasa, we run two Maktab Madrasas—one for boys and one for girls—following a rigorous three-year syllabus. Our curriculum is deeply rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, adhering to the methodology of the Salaf us-Salih. Students study a broad range of subjects, including Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah, Ma'loomatul Islamiyyah, Dua, Hadees, and other core Islamic topics.

Holistic Learning Environment

The Hifz Madrasa is a full-time program focused on Quran memorization. We’ve partnered with four local schools to offer a comprehensive school education alongside Quranic studies, providing our students with a balanced and holistic learning experience. Our experienced Ustads guide the students every step of the way, fostering both their Islamic and academic growth.

With transportation services throughout Kilakarai, we support not only our students but also their families, making it easier for them to access this vital education. Our goal is simple but profound: to raise a new generation of Hafiz, firmly grounded in Islamic values and equipped with the knowledge to succeed both spiritually and in the world.

KECT’s Methodology

Upholding the Pure Teachings of Islam

The Kilakarai Educational and Charitable Trust (KECT) follows a clear and authentic methodology rooted in the teachings of Manhajus Salaf (the way of the righteous predecessors) and Tawhid (the oneness of Allah). By returning to the original principles of Islam, as practiced by the first three generations of Muslims, KECT strives to provide guidance based on the Quran and the Sunnah, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his companions.

Tawhid: The Oneness of Allah

At the core of KECT’s approach is Tawhid, the belief in the absolute oneness of Allah. Everything KECT does revolves around emphasizing the importance of worshipping Allah alone, without any partners.

This foundational concept is beautifully encapsulated in the Quran:
“Say: He is Allah, [Who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.” — Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4)

KECT works to ensure that this understanding of pure monotheism is upheld, steering clear of any forms of polytheism or innovations in religious practice.

Manhajus Salaf: Following the Righteous Predecessors

KECT’s methodology follows the way of the Salaf us-Salih, the early generations of Muslims who adhered strictly to the Quran and Sunnah without introducing any innovations (bid’ah).

As the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
“I have left you with two things; if you hold fast to them, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” — Hadith (Sunan Abi Dawood 4607)

KECT works to ensure that this understanding of pure monotheism is upheld, steering clear of any forms of polytheism or innovations in religious practice.

Calling to Tawhid and Rejecting Innovations

KECT’s mission is to remind the community that true success lies in following the path of Tawhid and the original teachings of Islam.

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم warned against innovations in religion:
“Whoever introduces into this matter of ours (Islam) something that is not from it, it will be rejected.” — Hadith (Sahih Muslim 867)

KECT is dedicated to reforming communities by calling them back to the fundamentals of Islam—Tawhid and the authentic Sunnah—without getting involved in practices that deviate from these core principles.

Conclusion

KECT’s vision is simple: to revive the true spirit of Islam as practiced by the Salaf us-Salih. By focusing on Tawhid and adhering strictly to the Quran and Sunnah, the trust ensures that the community follows the pure teachings of Islam, free from innovation or misguidance. Through both educational and charitable efforts, KECT continues to uphold these timeless values, guiding the community towards spiritual and religious excellence.

  • “Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction…”
    — Quran 16:125
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) emphasized the importance of Dawah:
  • “Convey from me, even if it is one verse.”
    — Sahih Bukhari

Islamic Nurturing & Purification

KECT is committed to the Tarbiyyah (Islamic upbringing) and Tazkiyah (soul purification) of our community members, including youth and parents. We regularly host programs with scholars from Tamil Nadu to enrich the community with Islamic knowledge and spiritual growth, nurturing individuals based on Quranic teachings.

  • “He has certainly succeeded who purifies himself.”
    — Quran 87:14
As Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
  • “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”
    — Sahih Bukhari

Through our Tarbiyyah and Tazkiyah initiatives, KECT fosters personal development rooted in righteousness and knowledge.
